Hi,

Have Tracks 1.6 up and running. Very nice!!

All accesskeys work except Alt-N for anything New (action, context…).

I even tried changing the accesskey to ‘k’ for Show/Hide New Action on the Home Page, but it didn’t take either.

Anyone else bumped into this, or have any suggestions?

I’m using Firefox 3.0.1

Thanks,
m

you’re right. Could you make a report on http://dev.rousette.org.uk ?

Hi, i figured out what was going in Firefox 3, Windows Vista. might affect more and more users b/c it might be an FF3/Windows bug.

to test, i tried tabbing between links in by browser. the alt+n for toggling the Add [Whatever] box did not highlight when i did this. FF didn’t recognize it as a link (though it recognized all the others), and the difference is it’s the only link with out an href element in the A tag. i added an href for my own sake ( href=“#“ ) and the alt accesskey works fine.

wanted to note it here for your edification.

thx, m

great work. I’ve committed a patch with your solution. Thanks!

Just to note here, on my windows vista laptop with ff3 alt-shift-p does not work to go to projects, but will start windows media player :-(

Hi Reinier,

yes, glad to have that one fixed. i like to use Tracks fast!! grin

perhaps for the future, there could be a config to allow users to change which AccessKeys do what. don’t have time to program it myself now, just musing.

i changed my Alt+N to Alt+K (even after i fixed Alt+N) simply b/c in firefox 3, Alt+N is an accelerator for search/find next, and wanted to avoid conflicts.

thanks again,
m

you can always add an enhancement request on http://dev.rousette.org.uk . Perhaps someone will take up the challenge and produce a patch grin

Related to this: Is there a way of making the short-cut keys work on Linux (Ubuntu 8.04 with FF 3.0.1)?

Are you trying alt-N or alt-shift-N? In FF2+ you need to use alt+shift+accesskey

I works for me on fedora+ff2

I have tried all possible combinations and nothing works. I am not sure if this has to do with Ubuntu, the way FF is set up or with Tracks.

I hope it is not tracks grin

Can you test on another machine? Perhaps your window manager is taking the key events?

All my computers are set up (almost) the same way (standard ubuntu 8.04 installation with Gnome and FF 3, except for the headless server) and the short-cuts work on none of them. The only other way I can test them is on windoze (one of the computers is dual-boot, oh horror wink ).

OMG that was horrible wink. At least the experience served as a good reminder while I went away from windows!

More to the point: The short-cuts worked in FF2 and FF3 under windows, but not in IE6, so I guess that rules out my installation and tracks in general.

I believe that IE6 works with ALT-N instead of ALT-SHIFT-N, but I’m not sure.

alt-shift-n does the job on my ubuntu 8.04 & FF3.  Try that, Claus smile
