Hi,
I am testing Tracks to see if it can help me manage my daily tasks at work. One issue that I’ve run into is entering a specific time in the Due field of an action. I’ve changed my preference to include %H:%M for the date format. Initially the current time is entered into the Due field. I can manually enter a different time, but when I view the action, the Due field has the correct date but it lists 00:00 for the time. Does anyone know of a way to enter a specific due time?

The due date field only stores a date, not a datetime, so the time part will be thrown out.

I’m curious on the use case for which you want to use time as part of the due date. Could you give an example?

I’m using tracks to help me stay organized in my position as a Coordinator. The way that I use it specifically is by using Project to represent an entire job and Actions to represent different steps in the job. Often, I’m required to have an action complete by a deadline set by the project coordinator. Typically it is something like “Make revisions to the file and send it back to client by 2:00 p.m. for final approval.“

OIC. Tracks doesn’t help you in this case because it does not have alarm functions or such (besides the fact you cannot store time). You could set the due date and put the time in the description of the action. That way you see the due time when you review your action list.

There may not be a reminder type alarm, however there is an alarm function to an extent. The action becomes overdue and is highlighted with a different color. That would be sufficient for me. I just want to make sure I’m completing actions on time. Tracks in it’s current state is only precise to the date. I thought I’d be able to work with that but for my purposes I need something accurate up to the time of day as far as “Due” is concerned.

I can see your use case. Perhaps you can add your request as an enhancement request to http://dev.rousette.org.uk (guest:guest) That way we can keep your idea to consider for later release.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just submitted my feature request.
