clicking on tags not working in 1.7

I’m using the latest version 1.7RC (from Git yesterday), and noticed when I click on a tag, even though the tag is there, the result doesn’t find the tasks tagged with that tag. So, tags are associated with tasks, and appear in the main Home view, but I cannot click on a task there to filter all the tasks with that tag because none are found. I am using Dreamhost, and Passenger (mod_rails) - which works great, by the way; nice and fast.

I looked in the database, and noticed that the userid field is NULL for all my entries in the “tagging” table. When I replaced NULL with 1, my userid, clicking on tags worked fine. As a workaround, since I’m the only one using this install, I set the default value of the userid field to 1, and now things work properly; but this isn’t the right way to fix it permanently.

Thanks guys—other than that, 1.7 is looking really good.

Bug Reporting Help

Hi, I was not sure where to go with this issue as I did not know what to do with it so I figured this troubleshooting forum was the best place to turn

I found a bug in the 1.7RC release and want to file a bug report. From the main tracks website, I followed the link to the Assembla site where I created a new account. When I clicked the link from the “new ticket” button, it just says that my account is not permitted.

Anyhow, if someone could point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it.

I saved the bug info in a text file that I can submit if this can be straightened out.

Feeds based on item age

I’d like to be able to get a feed of items based on their age within the system. So things that are more than 30 days old (or haven’t been modified in 30 days) would be available as a feed. This would actually allow me to do my Weekly Review automatically, since I could use that to email me, and make any adjustments as necessary.

Is this available, or could it be made available?

“&“ in URLs in Notes fields of actions get changed into “&“

Hi all,

I am trying to convert my todo system from todoist.com to a tracks installation. Due to problems with 1.6 (smooth ajax contexts not expanding enough to contain all actions; context sorting not being persistent; context expands/folds on home page not being consistent) I’ve installed a git tarball from yesterday (2008-11-07) behind apache2+fastcgi on Ubuntu 7.10.

When making a next action, I would often like to add urls to the relevant gmail mails in the notes field. With simple URLs without “&“ characters this works fine: “URL”:http://my.url.com/

However, if the URL has &s;in (which it often has), these are all changed to “&“. When I open the edit box, they’re fine, but as soon as I save the next action and mouse over the URL, it’s useless.

What am I doing wrong? Any other advice on how to get around this?

ok sorry, it took some time to get it because i’m new to ruby and rails. Don’t use. Simply apply patch mentioned in response.

This error did annoy me very much, thus I tried to find a temporary workaround ‘till the issue is solved.

in model user.rb add

params[“list-contexts”] in controller context order method contains an empty entry thats the reason for context.nil? Please be aware that this mostly will work around the effect and not really solves the cause.

Works for me and hope it will work for you but of cause there may be side effects I’m not aware of

Git updating problem

Okay, so this is strictly speaking not a Tracks questions, except that I cannot get git to update my Tracks installation. This is what I get when I try to update:

If I remember correctly I actually did change .htaccess to use AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi
instead of fastcgi and changed the rewrite rules. So, my question is: How can I pull the newest development version?

Home Page lost its list of contexts / converting tracks1.6 data from mysql to sqlite3

I converted a batch of Tracks 1.6 data from a mysql installation on a server (debian 3.2), to a sqlite3 installation on my laptop (OSX 10.4). I figured out how to load the sqlite data via these instructions: http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?145,68269,92627#msg-92627

The import worked, except the user’s home page has lost the list of contexts containing todos on the left-hand side (see attached png). The only data showing on the left-hand side is “competed actions” (which is accurate).

Viewing the HTML source, I see a lot of “there are no incomplete actions in this context”:

But when I view each of the contexts individually, there are many todos listed.

When I add a brand new todo, the context and the new item appears in the left-hand area, as I’d expect. When I reload the page, it’s gone again.

I’ve seen this behaviour in firefox (2.0.0.16) and lynx (though in that case it shows the “no incomplete actions…“ message for each context).

I’ve visually inspected the data dumped by mysql and sqlite, and there aren’t (for example) any missing tables, or missing data that I can see. I re-ran the import using a fresh “tracks-16.db” sqlite file, wih the same result…

Any idea what I can do to bring the list of contexts back? Did I lose some essential data in the conversion process? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Help with solving error 422 Unprocessable Entity using API via Outlook

I managed to got the Outlook macro working as described here http://www.rousette.org.uk/projects/forums/viewthread/203

The Context and Project pull down lists are populated ok, so the connection is there.

However pressing the Add Todo button ends with the following error code:
Create Todo failed 422 Unprocessable Entity

Any help is appreciated!

Adding Due Date through API

I’ve attempted to add the due date to the api for the purpose of integrating it through email. I’m a very noob at RoR so I could use some help. I’m using the XMLRPC interface using Frontier. After restarting the dispatch.fcgi task, I now receive a internal server error (below). Here is what I did:
