Maybe you do this intentionally, but if not you might be interested to use svn’s “export” command, which allows you to create an archive that doesn’t have all the .svn/ folders. (You can pull either from a working copy or direct from the repository.)

Anyway, keep up the good work—

Those installing Tracks on a third-party server (Dreamhost, e.g.) can also use “wget http://www.rousette.org.uk/blog/projects/tracks-1.02a.zip” in the terminal to avoid having to download-and-then-upload. (As a relative newbie to the command line, I was delighted to discover this.)

jsp: Aha! I haven’t got to that section in Pragmatic Version Control using Subversion yet! Thanks for the tip!

Andrew Willett: Another excellent tip. Thanks!

Project still alive?

Any idea why I’m getting this error?:

Routing Error

No route for path: “”

Failure reasons:

“wsdl”}> failed because no controller found at subpath

nil, :action=>“index”}> failed because no controller found at subp

Chino: Yes, the project is still very much alive. I’m working hard on version 1.03 which should be out soon (see the Timeline).

Can you give me a bit more information? When do you get this error? What server and database are you using? The error refers to the /tracks/config/routes.rb file. Make sure that the line containing wsdl looks like this (i.e. commented out):

#map.connect ’:controller/service.wsdl’, :action => ‘wsdl’
