Tough guys
Those Tour de France riders really are made of steel. Tyler Hamilton is continuing to compete despite a broken collar bone, another had a high fever and Jimmy Casper had to ride in a neck brace because of a severe neck injury. Jimmy was interviewed after the stage and asked if it wasn’t really painful cycling with a neck injury. Instead of yelling, “Well what do you think!”, as I would have done, he just shrugged his shoulders in a rather Gallic way and said, “We are not girls.”
Well, they may shave their legs1, but I think we can definitely say that they aren’t girly.
1“It helps the wounds to heal when we get road rash injuries”. Yeah, right…

They've always been tough - but I have to say, there seem to have been a lot more accidents already than I remember from when I used to watch it before.
The one at the end of last night's stage in particular just made me think "Major ouch", particularly when you saw the state of his clothing at the end of it. (Sorry, can't remember the rider's name)----- And Wow at US Postal on the time trials. Storming piece of cycling by all involved.

I believe Tyler Hamilton only stays on his bike for the IMAX movie that is being made of the Team. He signed a contract with the producers and will make a lot of money if he can stay on his bike the first six days of the Tour. My guess is that he'll quit the race as soon as they reach the Alps tomorrow.

TbosS: I heard about that yesterday. I still think he's mad, though, however much he's getting paid.

and Hamilton is able to ride with the group Armstrong today. He surprises me. Let's see what he's able to do the rest of the weekend.
