So cold
In common with many large institutions, the University tends to turn off the central heating system in its buildings on a given date each year, rather than in response to the weather warming. Inevitably—-as this year—-this coincides with a cold snap, so that everyone spends a couple of weeks shivering in their suddenly-cold offices.
Note to self: wear a warm jumper tomorrow.

Heh! I'm reading (and now writing) this from inside a tent on a campsite near my office in Lichfield (I live near Oxford and it's a painful commute to do every day). I can confirm that this is indeed a bit of a cold spell... what was I thinking!!!

Steve: Oy, you're brave! But what a good solution to a long commute (at least when the weather's a bit warmer). Actually, I did wear a warm jumper today and was boiling. Typical.

Last night was much better! Each time I do it I save about £16 in fuel and maybe a teeny bit of the planet
The other people in my office probably think I'm a bit odd... I'm going to keep it quiet!

And my University has decided to leave the heaters on which is making it next to impossible to work in offices which are now more like a sweat box... .
