Nice title switcher

p. I've knocked up a rather primitive checkbox type thing so that you can switch the "fancy titles(Some liked it, most didn't)":http://www.rousette.org.uk/mt-static/blog/archives/000525.html effect on or off. Check the box on the right to toggle the effect, and then reload the page. The current status is shown beneath the checkbox. The script saves the state you've selected in a cookie, so you obviously need to allow cookies to be set for this to work.

p. It's horribly inelegant at the moment (for one thing, it doesn't remember the checked state of the checkbox), so I'll develop something better when I have time.

ALl nice titles does on my WIN2K IE6 machine is to disrupt a little bit of the line below where the title is. Don't see the text in the box at all.

SO, I hover the mouse over 'fancy titles' in this article, and I see "this to work" two lines below at the end of the para, become partially obscured. It looks the pixels forming the text overwrite the text on the page, so the text is obscured wherever the tip writing forms. So the text is disrupted rather than blanked. Both the tip and the text it displays over are unreadable.----- I'm at work at the moment and can report that it works fine with Netscape v7 (rounded corners and all) but with IE v6 I'm getting white text without a background which, as dave m notes, isn't overly legible.

Hmm. Does my new switcher checkbox switch the titles off, though? And if it does, is everything back to normal? My idea with this was just to allow people to view this page as if the nice titles didn't exist if they don't like it, or it doesn't work on their preferred browser.

Yes the 'switcher checkbox' works with IE6 and Netscape v7.
