Making an exhibition of himself
Mr. Bsag has been producing some cracking etchings1 and prints recently. I think they’re wonderful, and — at long last — other people are starting to think so too. This week, he’s had two prints accepted for two different exhibitions. The first is the Friends of the RBSA exhibition at the RBSA, and the second is the Birmingham Open at the Gas Hall, Birmingham. The RBSA exhibition runs until the 17th February, and the Birmingham Open runs from this Saturday until 29th April. If you’re in Birmingham and at a loose end for an hour or so, do go along. I think both exhibitions are free. Of course, if you also have a few quid knocking about, a space on a wall, and feel like buying Mr. Bsag’s work, that would be very welcome

1 Which, of course, gives him a legitimate reason for using the line, “Do you want to come up and see my etchings?”, but only with me, unless he wants his etching hand broken… ↑

How will we know which works are those of Mr. Bsag?
Or does he sign his artwork Bsag with a flourish?

Phil Wilkinson. The prints are rather nice aerial views with second world war planes flying high above the earth. Tranquil with a touch of melancholy.

For those of us unable to attend the exhibition in person because of unfortunate geography: Does Mr. Bsag have a Web site where we can view his etchings?

Jolyon: Nope, it's a coincidence
Actually, a lot of acronyms in Birmingham are 'B' something. There's also 'bmug' which is the Mac Users group.
Inkygirl: He has a very old and out of date site, which doesn't have any of his current stuff on (in fact not much on at all). I've tried at various times to set things up for him, but the problem is keeping it up to date, and reproducing the images adequately. Most of his work is too big for our A4 scanner, so we have to take photographs with an ordinary camera, which don't do the delicacy and detail of his prints justice at all. One day we'll get it sorted out, and I'll certainly publicise it here.
