Big step

Filed under: Life As We Know It, — bsag @ 05:05 PM

Today had our under-the-asking-price offer accepted on a house we really want to buy, which was simultaneously exciting and terrifying. I don’t want to get too excited at this stage because there are about a gazillion things that could go wrong with the sale (though there’s no chain at all, which does simplify things a bit). But somehow I can’t help getting excited. Eep!

Congratulations. Buying a house is a big step indeed.

Think of all the space for books and gadgetry!----- Fingers crossed, Bsag! grin

Congrats, bsag. We're buying a place too, right now. Good thing we have Tracks to help us keep track of the details! grin

Good luck bsag! I hope all goes well, and (more realistically) that you have steady nerves.

All: Thanks! We've heard such horror stories from friends about all kinds of things going wrong at the 11th hour that we've promised ourselves that we won't get too attached to this house until we've actually got the keys in our hands. It is pretty scary though. I don't feel grown up enough to be buying a house.

    congratulations!

I think you are reading my mind. That exact same thing just happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

Right now, the deal is pretty much done, aside from the lawyers and all that.

I guess people buy houses every day, but this is my first and it's really exciting/nerve-wracking.

I'm excited thinking about all the great things I can do with the place, but nervous about how much money it will cost.

    Good luck on it!
