Airboats

p. [Sunday 23rd March]

p. Phew. Airboats are fast. And noisy. And probably really bad for the environment. Buy boy are they fun! We thought that we really had to have a go on one while we were in Florida. Actually, we saw quite a bit of wildlife on the trip — lots of birds, some lovely dragonflies and an alligator some way off in the distance.

p. The first time you ride on an airboat and the driver heads straight for a patch of reeds, you can’t help thinking “Aaarggg! We’re going to crash!”. This wears off after a bit, and then it gets quite fun — though wearing the ear defenders is a really good idea, or you end up shouting at everyone for hours afterwards.

How would you like to have that sound on your land and in your home on a regular basis? How would you never have a single weekend or holiday that is anything but airboat hell in your home for 8 to 14 to 18 or more hours nonstop?? How would you like 47 airboats playing poker run for 14 to 18 hours nonstop on a regular basis until death seems the better of the choices??? How would you like to never know what is on TV because the airboaters remove the suppressors and all you get is scrambled viewing--unless there is a severe thunderstorm--then you can watch TV-beautiful picture and sound. how would you like to go to sleep only when the airboat allows you to. how about 2 hours a night?????? I say that airboaters are arrogant, cruel, vicious , inhumane, narcissitic pieces of flesh who have absolutely no regard for human, plant or animal life. They are completely ungodly with no respect for God and his creations. i say that these instruments of torture and torment need to be banned and used only for very specific purposes far away from anything alive!!!!----- I think your an idiot!!

Airboaters are like anyone else in this world. We have the same rights to enjoy our hobbies as the next person. Some of us are, I am sad to say, disrespectful to property owners, rude, and, yes...arrogant. There have been times when I have even wished that certain people did not own an airboat. However, there are more of us who do have respect for others, are not rude, and are not arrogant. We are concerned about our environment and God's creatures. We have even formed conservation organizations to help promote responsible boating as well as conserving our beautiful lakes and sovereign lands.

So, Trudy, before you start blasting airboaters as a whole, you might want to look at the individual in question.

i think that this “woman” needs to get her headout of her but and think about what is going to happen when her half milliom dollar home gets flooded by the next huge hurricane that comes through and the only way to get her stuff out her house is an airboat.I agree with rhonda there are some of us that dont need to be on airboats but that is the very slim minority and most of the rest of us are doing what we can to keep them from ruining airboating for the rest of us.
